Enrolling and Waiting Lists

Hollow Hills School is a fundamental magnet school. Meaning, we draw from all over Simi Valley. The only requirement of your child attending here is to be a Simi Valley resident. It starts with a lottery for kindergarten. We can get anywhere from 60-150 lottery applications and usually have about 35-50 openings. We hold our lottery the first 2 weeks of February each year. But it is best to call our office in January, the year your child will start kindergarten, to get the exact dates.

The students that do not make it into the lottery start our waiting lists. The list moves up to first grade, second grade, etc., until your child gets called for an opening. We send out a letter every March asking parents to return a post card stating if they want to stay on the waiting list or not.

If your child is currently in another school, you can complete an application at any time to put your child on one of our waiting lists. You must be a Simi Valley resident to apply to Hollow Hills. The application can be picked up in our office between 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The enrollment/lottery process closes the first day of school and all students wanting to enroll at Hollow Hills after the first day of school will have to be put on a waiting list for the next year.
