Attention all volunteers! Our training for the Junior Achievement Day will be on March 1st at 8:20 am in the Hollow Hills MPR. The representative from Junior Achievement will be here to train us and deliver our supplies. The actual Junior Achievement Day will be on Thursday, March 29, from 8:15-12:00 pm. Please let your child's teacher know if you are interested in volunteering for our Junior Achievement Day.

Kindergarten Lottery applications will be available for pick-up in the office between February 1 and February 14, 2018. All applications are due back by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14th. The lottery will be held on Thursday, February 15th, and a post card will be mailed out to you the week of February 20th letting you know of your child’s lottery number. There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, February 13th, at 7:00 p.m., in the MPR at Hollow Hills Fundamental School. Applications must be picked up in the office. They cannot be mailed or faxed, and are not on-line. Applications will be available on Thursday, February 1st. The application must be completed by a parent, and you must be a Simi Valley resident to apply. REMINDER: YOUR CHILD MUST BE 5 YEARS OLD ON, OR BEFORE, SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2018.

The 2018 Hollow Hills Variety Show is on Friday, April 13th from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Santa Susana High School. Registration begins online Today, 1/16: https://tinyurl.com/y996pa48  Auditions will be held in the MPR on February 21st.  Our theme this year is "Welcome to the Jungle" and donations made on 4/13 will benefit the Moorpark Teaching Zoo!!!

If your currently enrolled Hollow Hills student (or if you have a student that culminated from Hollow Hills and is still in a Simi Valley Unified School) has a sibling that will be starting kindergarten in the fall, you may pick up a registration packet during the month of January. We will be accepting registration for siblings of current and previous Hollow Hills students during the month of January only. All registration materials must be returned by January 31, 2018 to be eligible for sibling enrollment.

The students will be performing holiday songs for the parents at our Holiday Program. We will have standing room only during these performances so please try to come on your designated day: Monday, December 18th, for last name beginning A-L, and Tuesday, December 19th for last name beginning M-Z. Please be courteous to the rest of the audience by standing on the side aisles to take photos of the performance.

Student Council is sponsoring an online donation drive through Donorschoose.org to help provide materials to classrooms affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.  Hollow Hills’ families are encouraged to go to the donorschoose.org website through our Hurricane Aid Link, and donate to the specific schools we have “adopted”. You might also choose to donate to other schools in affected areas.

Additionally, we are providing information on One America Appeal, a fundraising effort spearheaded by all 5 living former Presidents.  It is a privately funded charity, intended to supplement recovery funds in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Be sure to identify yourself as a member of the Hollow Hills Community in your donation!

We will not be collecting supplies or cash/check donations at school. All funds are to be donated directly to the selected organizations.

All 4th, 5th and 6th grade students are welcome to join the Hollow Hills Honor Club. The Honor Club will meet in Room A-1 each Thursday at lunchtime to learn about Geography and prepare for the National Geographic Bee that will be conducted in January. There will be an informational meeting for parents and students on Monday, October 9th, at 2:25 p.m. in Room A-1.

Parent/teacher conferences will run from Monday, October 16th through Monday, October 23rd. Please be on time for your conference. If you need to reschedule, please let the teacher know ASAP. Parent/teacher communication is essential to the success of the Fundamental Program. All students will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. on conference days.

Please come to Back to School Night,for grades 1st-5th, on Thursday, August 24th, starting at 6:00 p.m. in the MPR. This is an "Adults Only" presentation. Classroom sessions will be at 6:30 and 7:05 p.m.

 

School will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. for all grades on August 24th.

The 6th grade culmination ceremony has been scheduled for June 9th at 8:30 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room.  We anticipate the ceremony will last approximately ninety minutes.  A PTA-sponsored reception will follow the ceremony.  Following the reception, parents may check their sixth grader out for the remainder of the day. Students should dress age-appropriately and in accordance with our school dress code.
